Alf, I heard Ashby & Alese were removed from the u23 squad the past day or so, the kids may feature again

Re: Team for Wolves
With a defence featuring Balbuena and Cresswell I am not expecting a clean sheet :-(

Play the kid Alese. Looks streets ahead of Balbuena as a footballer, calm head, great technique. Ok might be a inexperienced and not quite as strong aerially but Balbuena looks like a £5million South american defender which is what he is. Sullivan special?

Wolves will dominate possession as they did back end of last season. We might have the occasional counter attack.

We haven't scored against this lot in the last 4 games......no doubt Traore will rip Arfur or Cresswell a new one!

Re: Team for Wolves
I think we’ll set up as the away team and try to hit on the counter attack like we did against Arsenal.

With no fans in the stadium the pressure to attack and have possession has gone, home advantage is massively diminished.

Moyes will look to keep it tight and would no doubt take a 0-0 now if offered. So I’m pretty sure we will play 5 at the back again and one up front.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see 3 defensive midfielders with Noble taking the defensive playmaker role*

Re: Team for Wolves
We are missing something in midfield, this season we have had little dominance in midfield and yes little spark. Yarmolenko will provide some spark and Masuaku is not bad for a bit of spark. But 2 up front and one less in midfield will not help us dominate. The midfield I put will struggle against Wolves, but hopefully we can get the ball up the wings to the front 2 and score a few goals.

And play who for the creative spark?

We need some creative spark in the team

Play Anderson in the role behind the front 2

Re: Team for Wolves
I didn’t see 3 at the back for Arsenal?
Masuaku was playing midfield in front of Cresswell. Fredericks and Cresswell were full backs. Fredericks is playing well and should keep his place. I’d drop Bowen, he has been a bit crap this season. Its harsh, but I’d also drop Fornals. I’d like to see Haller and Yarmolenko start.

Fabianski
Fredericks Alese Ogbonna Cresswell
Yarmolenko Rice Soucek Masuaku
Haller Antonio

If we win too many games under Irving, he'll be Moyes' successor

Great News that Moysie will still be managing the team remotely for this game.

Re: Team for Wolves
I don't think our backline is strong enough for a back three. I think we improved against Arsenal because we often play better against teams who try to play football.

I like the exile's second attempt.

Fabianski
Fredericks Balbuena Ogbonna Cresswell
Rice Soucek
Bowen Yarmolenko Antonio
